Instructions for use

Indications: Etching dentine and tooth enamel in preparation for bonded restorations.

Using Etch from 3ml Syringes

Step 1: Prepare the cavity as normal. Clean enamel if required.
Rinse & dry thoroughly.

Step 2: Fit a disposable tip to the 3ml syringe and squeeze required quantity of Etching Gel onto the tooth surface. Recommended etching time for instrumented or cleaned enamel is 20 seconds (slightly longer if pellicle is present); for dentine it is 15 seconds. If possible, apply etching gel first to the enamel surface and then to the dentine. Fluoridated enamel will require longer etch time.  Generally, wait for micro bubbles to appear, to confirm etching is completed.

Step 3: Rinse with copious amounts of water. Do not disturb the tooth surface. Depending on the instructions for use of your chosen bonding system, leave the surface wet or dry it with clean, uncontaminated air.

Step 4: Replace the syringe cap after use.
Caution: Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If eye contact occurs, wash with copious quantities of water and contact a physician.

Filling/Refilling the 3ml from the 50ml Syringe

Warning: Wear protective glasses, gloves and clothing.

Step 1: Remove the cap from the top of the 3 ml syringe.

Step 2: Remove the cap from the top of the 50 ml syringe.

Step 3: Screw the inter-syringe connector onto the top of the 50
ml syringe.

Step 4: If necessary, gently push the plunger of the 50 ml syringe
just enough to remove any air that is trapped in
the connector.

Step 5: Push the plunger of the 3 ml syringe in as
far as it will go.

Step 6: Screw the tip of the 3 ml syringe into
the syringe connector.

Step 7: Push gently on the plunger of the 50 ml syringe and
make sure that all connections are sealed and that no leakage of
the Etching Gel occurs.

Step 8: Carefully push on the plunger of the 50 ml syringe to
transfer Etching Gel to the 3 ml syringe. The plunger of the 3 ml
syringe will move out as the syringe fi lls.

Step 9: IMPORTANT. When the desired quantity of Etching Gel
has been acquired, pull back slightly on the plunger of the 50 ml
syringe to release the pressure.

Step10: Replace the cap on the 3 ml syringe or screw one of the
black disposable tips onto the 3 ml syringe.

Step11: Leaving the inter-syringe connector in
place on the 50 ml syringe, seal this syringe with
the cap provided (screw clockwise).
